Optometrist
Dr. Dorsey, committed to providing an unmatched eye care experience, is an incredible addition to our Limestone Eye Care Team. Dr. Dorsey is originally from Wichita, KS and graduated from the University of Kansas. While at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, she was able to follow her passion of serving others by participating in multiple mission trips to Honduras and Mexico.
Over the last near-decade, Dr. Dorsey has had the opportunity to practice in Kansas and Missouri, both in small towns and in Kansas City. She has experience treating multiple ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, dry eye, injuries, and infections. Dr. Dorsey believes that spending the time to educate patients about their eye health and vision should be the standard for every visit and is the key to forming a great relationship with all patients. She is very excited to return to Lawrence and to begin seeing patients!
Outside of optometry, you can find Dr. Dorsey spending as much time as possible with her family. She currently lives with her spouse, five-year-old daughter, and two dogs. She is also an active member at her church

Smantha, whose name she promises isn’t a typo, is our Practice Lead. She has been in the optometry world for nearly a decade and earned her American Board of Opticianry Certification in February of 2018. She and her partner share their home with their two rescue dogs, a sweet pit-mix named Gracie and an adorable wirehaired terrier, Lucy.
